artwork guidelines
good art is the start of a successful print!
A good finished product starts with good, high quality art. Here are a few guidelines to ensure that we have the best artwork possible to start your project and to help you avoid additional art charges and/or an extended turnaround time.
-Please provide digital files for all orders. Adobe Illustrator files (.ai, .pdf, vector artwork) are preferred
-Raster images may be acceptable, depending on the project, but vector is always preferred.
We’re always happy to help when it comes to artwork and are able to work with most provided images, but the better the art files you provide, the more quickly and successfully we can deliver a high quality finished product.
VECTOR vs. RASTER
Vector artwork is an image created of points and paths, meaning the artwork is fully editable and scalable. Common Vector file formats are .ai, .eps, .pdf
Raster artwork is an image created from many pixels, meaning that the artwork is not editable or scalable. It requires extra work to be separated and/or vectorized.
A few other artwork notes:
A.I. Generated Images
We’re happy to accept A.I. generated designs and images. These often require extra work to prepare for printing, including resolution fixes, vectorization, cleanup or touch-ups, and color separation and aren’t considered “Print Ready” files, so additional fees will be quoted.
Original File Flaws
We are not responsible for printing issues caused by errors or flaws in your original file.
Artwork Warnings
Please ensure that your artwork does not violate any copyright, trademark, or publicity rights. Customers are solely responsible for confirming copyright, trademark, and licensing permissions for all submitted artwork and agree to indemnify Blue Sky Supply Co. from any related claims.
